Three Homoeopathy Quacks including Ex-IAF Arrested

CHENNAI.FEB.24: Police on Monday arrested a former Indian Air Force employee, his younger brother and their associate after it was found they ran a one-day 'traditional alternative medicine homeopathy' course at a hotel in Koyambedu on Sunday and even issued 'certificates' to the participants. After a central crime branch (CCB) team nabbed G K Kanaga Thrimeni, 55, his brother G K Kanaga Gnanaguru, 37, and Parthiban, 40, based on a complaint of Avudaiyappan, registrar of the Tamil Nadu Homeopathy Medical Council at Arumbakkam, a court sent the three to jail.
V. Avudaiyappa, Registrar of the TNHMC said he had specific information from office-bearers of the council that Kanaga Thrimeni had no degree and registration to practise homeopathy or run a course but conducted classes and wanted the CCB to probe the matter.
The CCB officials, who nabbed the three men, conducted searches at their residences and hotel rooms and seized bundles of fake homeopathy certificates and seals. The trio, CCB sleuths said, had conducted a similar crash course in the city on December 8, 2019, and issued fake certificates to participants. The Tamil Nadu Homeopathy Medical Council said it will inquire into those who obtained the 'certificates' from Thrimeni and if they were practising homeopathy.
