Plea to Telangana Health Minister

          Dr.N. Srinivasa Rao, Member, Central of Homoeopathy and Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, the statutory body of the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt.of India had met with Dr.C.Laxma Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Medical and Health, Govt.of Telangana and submitted a memorandum on issues related to the Homoeopathy.
         Dr.N.Srinivasa Rao appealed to the Minister to establish an Epidemic Cell in the state government for effective surveillance and prevention of seasonal diseases and epidemics in view of the potentiality of homoeopathy in prevention and treatment of such conditions, utilization of telemedicine technology to promote AYUSH systems of medicine in general and homoeopathy in particular in the rural areas, to conduct research on genetic diseases and rare diseases by having an MoU with the Institute of Genetics, Osmania University, establishment of E-class rooms and digitation of health records in the AYUSH hospitals and dispensaries, establishment of National Homoeopathy Museum in the premises of the National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage, Hyderabad, revamping the AYUSH Board of Telangana and to start the CME programs for the practitioners, establishement of Regional Research Institute of Homoeopathy at Karimnagar, upgradation and allotment of land for the Drug Standardization Unit of the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy in the premises of the Osmania University.
         Dr.N.Srinivasa Rao had informed the Health Minister that the Govt.of India has allocated around 5,000 crores for the development of AYUSH in the 12th five year plan, and requested the Minister to send suitable proposals for the development of AYUSH in the state of Telangana with the Central Govt. funds under the Central Sponsored Schemes, Central Sector Schemes, National AYUSH Mission, Extra Mural, intra mural and collaborative research schemes. He also brought to the notice of the Minister to prevail on the central government to establish an AYUSH University in the state of Telangana, which will be unique of its kind for the overall development of AYUSH systems of medicine.
