Scientific approach ….

Dear Readers,
"What is needed” is the scientific approach, the adventurous and yet critical temper of science, the search for truth and new knowledge, the refusal to accept anything without testing and trial, the capacity to change previous conclusions in the face of new evidence, the reliance on observed fact and not on pre-conceived theory, the hard discipline of the mind—all this is necessary, not merely for the application of science but for life itself and the solution of its many problems." —Jawaharlal Nehru (1946), The Discovery of India, p. 512

Hahnemann’s life and works are a true example of this scientific temper fructifying in the birth and development of our great system of Homoeopathy. In the light of the rapid and giant developments in the various aspects of modern science, it is at last the time for Hahnemann to be vindicated of all the negative criticism borne for over two centuries. Homoeopathy can finally shed its branding of “placebo”, “pseudo-science”, etc. and make it known to the world that it is probably the earliest application of nanoparticles in the world.

With the availability of tools to study the action of Homoeopathic potencies on living human cells we would gain a clear understanding of the modus operandi of the homoeopathic medicines. We need not resort to just clinical evidences to convince the efficacy of the infinitesimal dose to the scientific world.
Modern research is aiming towards efficient drug delivery systems to ensure minimum drugging of the patients and help drugs reach the target organs without causing unnecessary effects on other parts of the body. We Homoeopaths already have one of the most efficient drug delivery stystems thanks to the Cardinal Principles that we apply.

Words like Similia, Simplex and Minimum gain in-depth scientific weightage. The concept of individualization, vital principle and the role of susceptibility easily fall in place in the large jig-saw puzzle of understanding of Homoeopathy by the modern scientists. Understanding genetic data of generations of humans will give a deep and true picture of the miasmatic traits of the human race.

The future generation of Homoeopathic physicians will be armed with a crystal clear understanding of the processes of health and disease as well as medicinal action. It is up to us to keep on working towards standardized, thorough approach to disease understanding and treatment methodologies to help hold our noble system on its rightful pedestal in the scientific community. May humanity benefit from Homoeopathy in its most scientific form.
   Long Live Hahnemann. Aude Sapere.
