Maharashtra Homeopathy doctors on hunger strike

          AURANGABAD.Dec.10: Homeopathy doctors joined the three-day statewide protest by observing bandh to press for their various demands. The hunger strike began on Monday in Nagpur and is led by Dr.Arun Bhasme, Rajanitai Indulkar, S T Gosavi and other members of Homeopathic Doctors Anyay Nivaran Sangharsh Samiti (HDANSS) to raise voice against the state government. Dr.Anupama Pathrikar, medical director at Foster Development's Homoeopathic Medical College, said the homoeopathic practitioners and teachers in the state have been struggling on various fronts for the last 30 years.

       Today Shri Ravi Rana MLA from Badnera arranged a meeting with Chief Secretary Shri Sahariya regarding the demands of Homeopathic Doctors Anyay Nivaran Sangharsh Samitee. Smt Neeta Lochan Secretary of Medical Education, Dr. Shingare DMER, Prof. Kuldeepraj Kohli, Director of AYUSH, Dr. Bahubali Shah President MCH, Dr. Rajni Indulkar, Dr. Dahane, Concerned officers & me were present. Chief Secretary advised me to stop Hunger Strike but myself denied to stop Hunger Strike and announced to continue Hunger Strike till the demands are fulfilled, said Dr.Arun Bhasme.

       Among various other demands, the protesters have urged the state government to involve them in public health services and provide better salaries to those working under NRHM. The homoeopathic doctors have demanded to authorise the certificates issued by them as other fitness certificate to be submitted to the regional transport office (RTO), Pathrikar said.

       The doctors have also demanded stipend for interns and postgraduate students of homoeopathy, separate directorate for homoeopathy and removal of pending cases lodged against homoeopathic doctors.
