A female child aged 1 year and 6 months was brought to me after
confirming that the child is infected with Dengue. Initially was
treated with modern medicines from their family physician for
five days , then he advised to undergo blood tests which confirmed
When they brought the child to me, fever
is continuous, subsided for 6 hours with antipyretics prescribed
by the physician and relapsed again and again. Temperature –
102 F. Pulse was 104/min. The Child looked very tired and drowsy,
sleeps 5-6 hours in the morning. The child presented unusual irritability
and peevishness, wants to be carried always.. I observed the fever
had started after their return from Karaikudi, a dengue prevalent
area in south Tamil Nadu. Physically the child presented scanty
perspiration, finds difficulty while passing stool.
Tiredness and sleepiness, child sleeps for 5 – 6 hours in
morning which was not there previously when healthy. I found that
they returned from the native place, Karaikudi on 25th May, 2012,
on the same day fever started. The investigation reports suggested
• Platelet count - 94,000/cumm.
• Dengue NS1 IgM Positive
• Dengue NS1 IgG Positive
Eupatorium perfoliatum 200C /one dose
Advised the parents to stop modern medicines
child slept peacefully without fever.
The child is active.

Mild fever again but the child is active.
Appetite was good
Sulphur 30-1 dose.

The child was given Eupatorium Perfoliatum 200 on
the basis of Irritability may be because of malaise, loss of appetite
and increased thirst, also perspiration is scanty. Treatment is
completed with Antipsoric medicine.
