TIRUMANGALAM.DEC.23: Government Homoeopathy Medical College celebrated their College day : Zen Fiesta “11” at their Auditorium . Lakshmi Priya, Lady secretary welcomed the gathering. The celebration was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Thiru. Asra Garg , Superintendent of Police , Madurai District , Prof.Dr.A.Gopalakrishnan presided over the function .
The students union Chairman S,Saravanan presented the annual report and prizes were distributed to all rank holders and competition winners . A cultural program also hosted by the students .The fine arts Secretary M.Ahammed Adhil proposed vote of thanks and finally the event ended with National Anthem

Prof. Dr.Devasankar, inaugurated the seminar. Dr.R.Gnanasambandam, Prof.Dr. Murugesan , Prof.Dr. Sembulingam and Prof.Dr.Jayameera also participated . Dr. Veera balaji Kumar presented his speech on ‘Challenges in Homoeopathy”, Dr.R.D.Pavalan, on “ Applied organon with reference to clinical practice.”Dr. Chidambaranathan, on “Pathological prescription Dr.T.Semparuthi on “New Avenues” ” and Dr.Lalithambika on “ Infertility” The seminar gathered with 250 delegates P.Maruthu Pandian, S.Venmani Kanal, the Joint Secretaries P..Anbarasi, R.Sri Vaishnavi and T.Gayathri anchored the event . Dr.Diwan Harish Chand, the Homoeopathic Legend passes away


NEW DELHI .DEC.13: Dr. Diwan Harish Chand, the world’s renowned Homoeopath passed away this morning. His sudden demise had shocked the Homoeopathic community, since his smiling face is ever green among the delegates of LIGA congress held on 1-4th December 2011 at New Delhi. The Homoeopathy community is deeply saddened on his irrevocable loss. Voices of enquiry, condolence messages, SMS, email exchanges with his well wishers shows his remarkable service to the fraternity.


      Diwan Harish Chand was born on 7th March 1924 at Lahore. He was graduated in medicine (M.B.B.S.) in 1945 and spent more than 60 years in the study and practice of Homoeopathy. He acquired the highest qualifications in Homoeopathy and in general medicine. He was having a vast clinical experience of working in hospitals in UK and USA and with Dr. Pierre Schmidt in Switzerland.
He was actively involved in teaching programs and lectures in many countries for the last 50 years. Dr. Diwan represented Indian Homoeopaths for long at LHMI as its President. He also served as Vice President of Central Council of Homoeopathy. He served Homoeopathy in various capacities both at official level as well as at institutional way.

      He participated many international Congresses and positioned as President of LHMI, the international organization, later he was the President of Honour. He has been conferred with more than 20 awards, National and International and very numerous honorary diplomas and fellowships. This includes the most prestigious award in medicine-the Dhanwantari award having been adjudged “the most outstanding medical man of the year”. The Government of Delhi also conferred Homoeo Rattan Award first ever to Dr.Diwan Harish Chand, for his contribution to the cause of homoeopathy. He was the honorary physician to the Presidents of India

      Dr. Diwan Harish Chand’s literary contributions have given to Homoeopathy priceless works like: A Compendium of Lectures on Homoeopathy; Microdoses Megaresults and Homoeopathy in Geriatrics and co-edited with Dr. Pierre Schimdt Kent’s Final General Repertory. He has been a member of every Homoeopathy committee of the government of India during the last 50 years and chairman of committees on research, education and pharmacopeias.

      He was actively involved in social service avenues of Rotary club of Delhi; in civil defense; Aids Awareness and Family Welfare programs. Besides all these activities he was a sportsman, keen photographer and philatelist. Dr. Diwan Harish Chand’s demise is an irrevocable loss to the Homoeopathic Fraternity. May his soul rest in peace.
