Homoeopathic Recommendations for Swine flu by experts
 

 

      National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), which reports directly to AYUSH is awaiting a ratification from the Ministry before announcing the official path that homoeopaths should take while treating swine flu patients.

      NIH Director Eswara Das said the institute has been swarming with flu patients and that most are in a state of panic. However, it is yet to get a patient who has tested positive for the H1N1 virus. “We are trying to arrive at a clear route for treatment of swine flu and are awaiting Ayush’s directions”.

      The flu patients that we have got been given Aconite and Gelsemium the age old favourites for treating flu. However, we have to administer something more focused if we have to treat H1N1.
A renowned homoeopath Dr. K.D.Banerjee said “it is extremely important to wait for the report before starting treatment for swine flu. Drugs like Eupatorium and Belladonna 200 can be very useful”.

      Dr Arun Chatterjee, another homoepath, said “Influenzium is a protective medicine, while Belladonna can be handy in case of flu. But a pathology test is necessary to start the treatment”.

      Prof. L.K. Nanda, Principal-cum-Superintendent of city-based Abhin Chandra Medical Collage and Hospital (ACMCH) “swine flu situation can be treated and prevented with conventional homoeopathic medicines like other viral diseases”.

       There are group of homoeopaths started an SMS campaign saying Influenzinum 1M can be given to adults and Influenz 200 to kids to prevent them from contracting the disease.

TNHMC seeks approval of drugs for swine flu

      CHENNAI. AUGUST. 14: Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical Council convened an urgent Expert Meeting to discuss the pandemic swine flu. Dr.R.Gnanasambandam President of the council Chaired the meeting and Dr.F.A.Raja, Assistant Medical Officer, Dr.P.V.Venkataraman, Member, DSC, CCCRH, Dr.N.R.Jayakumar and C.Soundararajan, Registrar i/c of the council participated.

      The committee recommended on the basis of previous experiences of the epidemics and the literature suggested Aconite 200 or Arsenicum Album 200 for prevention. The drugs Arsenicum album, Bryonia alba, Baptisia, Gelsemium can be used for curative depending on the symptoms of an individual.

      The recommendations has been forwarded to the Principal Secretary, Department of Health and The principal Secretary and Director, Department of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu and also requested to permit to treat the confirmed cases under homoeopathic perspective.
