Do not remix the systems ! Goa Health Minister warns

 
     GOA, Feb 6 "Do not remix the various systems of medicine but be competent in the field you have been trained" cautioned Dr. Suresh Amonkar , Minister for Health & Family Welfare
   
at the inaugural function of the "Workshop on Case Anamnesis" on 6th Feb 2004 conducted by Shri Kamaxidevi Homoeopathic Medical College, Shiroda. He explained that in order to propagate their system of medicine the Homoeopathic doctors should confidently and scientifically treats patients with only "Homoeopathic Medicines". This can be achieved if the Homoeopathic doctors venture to practice in far-flung area, he added.

     He assured wholehearted co-operation from the government in acquiring a NOC for the M.D. course to be started in this institution. It is the policy of the government to help all the systems of medicine to propagated, he started.

     Dr. Amonkar in his speech also requested the Homoeopathic doctors to avail themselves, the cyber age scheme of the government to explore the field of telemedicine. No doctor will be permitted to practice medicine in the State without proper registration, he remarked, while briefing on the proposed medical practice Bill of the government.

     The Chairman of the Governing Council Shri Subhash A. Shiradkar in his speech stressed the need of MD Course to provide avenue in the institution for high education to the Goan students. He also expressed his happiness of the successful implementation of Cyberage Scheme in Shiroda and his vision of converting the village into an IT village, which will be the first of its kind in the State of Goa. The Chairman honoured Dr.Suresh Amonkar with a Momento.

     Earlier Dr. Arvind Kothe, Principal of the college welcomed the function and briefed on the college activities towards the State Dr. Kishor Metha, Director, Heri Mumbai and Dr Shekhar Vaze, Prof. HMC, Khamgaum also spoke on the occasion.


 
Deputy Advisor seeks Evidence based Medicine

said Dr. Eswaradas, Deputy advisor Homoeopathy at Post Graduate seminar at Cochin organised by the DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College in association with Dr.Padiyar Homoeopathic Medical College.

     He presented a paper on ‘Global Scenario of Homoeopathy’. He explained wonderfully about the status of Homoeopathy, highlighted that “Homoeopathy is being practiced all over the world, among which India is the world leader” he added to his presentation.

 
Goa ranks high in Health services Homoeopathy Advisor says

    SHIRODA, Feb.7 “The State of Goa ranks highest in improving health services and to enrich this each district hospital should make a provision to have consultants of these Indian System of medicine and

homoeopathy as prescribed in the Official Gazette of Govt. of India” narrated Dr.S.P.Singh, Union Government Homoeopathy Advisor. He participated as a special guest to the Valedictory function of the two days ‘Workshop on Case Anamnesis’ conducted by Shri Kamaxidevi Homoeopathic Medical College, Shiroda.

     He elaborated the various schemes of Govt. of India aimed at propagating the Homoeopathic system of medicine and he extended all the assistance towards the institution and the system for the same. The Indian system of medicine and Homoeopathy has been renamed as “Ayush” which stands for Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy he added.

     Mr. U. D. Kamat, special Secretary for Health, Govt. of Goa in his address, assured that the schemes provided by the Govt. of India, will be shortly implemented by the State Government. He also added that he is happy to see the institution progress at a fast pace and prayer for its continuation. Mr. Subhaash A. Shirodkar, Chairman, Governing board mentioned that basic knowledge in the system of medicine is merely not enough and that every student will have to play vital role in pivotal projects like research work on Diabetes, Asthma and other diseases.

      The chief Guest felicitated the toppers for the year 2002 and 2003. Mr. U. D. Kamat felicitated the senior faculty members of the institution and the doctors involved in the Intensive School Training and the workshop on Case Anamnesis.


 
National Seminar 2004 Hosted at Parbhani
     

    PARBHANI, Feb.1. Shaktibrahma Homoeopathic Research Center, in association with ‘Homoeopathic Practitioner’s Association,hosted a one day National Seminar at Parbhani Maharastra state. Dr.Vijay Vaishnav and Dr.Daksha Vaishnav were the speakers.

 
     Dr. Vijay Vaishnav spoke on ‘Scientific approach to the study of Homoeopathic Materia Medica’ and Dr. Daksha Vaishnav on ‘Discovering modern approach towards Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the light of Homoeopathy’.

     
Dr. Daksha Vaishnav presented well on every topic with cured cases with audio visual aids. Dr. Vijay Vaishnav projected the importance of Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Clinical subjects in Homoeopathic Practice with case studies.

      Mr. Ashokji Soni, a eminent social worker , inaugurated this seminar. Dr. J.D. Patil, P.G. Director, DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College, Aurangabad, was the special invitee. Dr. Vasant Garad, Dr. Shivaji Aundhekar Dr. Shrigopal Darak also spoke on the occasion. Mr. Pawan S.Chandak, Director of Center, had orginsed this seminar.

     Students and practitioners from Parbhani, Nanded, Basmat, Hingoli, Aurangabad, Shirpur, Amravati, Nagpur, Beed, Ahmednagar, Pune, Nashik, Khamgaon, and Akola attended the seminar.

 
More Homoeopathic Medical Colleges Ex-Health Minister Urges
   

    GUNTUR, Feb.14. “Andra Pradesh needs more Homoeopathic Medical Colleges to spread all corners of the state. Homoeopathic system has contributed immensely to the reduction in the number

of brain fever cases in the state” said Dr. S. Aruna, former Minister for Health, Ex-Minister attended as a chief guest to the A.P state convention of IIHP, released the souvenir, expressed her confidence over efficacy of Homoeopathy. Dr. M.D.V. Ramana Rao president of IIHP A.P state branch presided the inaugural function and General Secretary Dr. K. S. S. Siva Murthy welcomed the gathering. National IIHP president Dr. Niranjan Mohanty,secretary General Dr. K. R. K. Prabhakar Murthy, Vice President Dr. N. Srinivasa Rao also attended the function. Dr. G. L. N. Sastry Adviser of IIHP was a special invitee to the occasion.

      Second day of convention followed with scientific sessions. Dr.P.Sampath Rao, Principal HKE society Homoeopathic Medical College Gulbargha, Dr. Prafful Borkar, Dr. Bandish Ambani , Dr.D.B.R. Prasad, Dr. Vijaya Kumar, Dr. G. Srinivasulu, Dr. K.L.S. Varaprasada Rao, Dr. G.S. Muralidhara Rao and Dr.A. Rajendra Reddy paid their contributions towards Homoeopathic Education and Research, importance of Miasmatic theory and Management of cardiovascular respiratory and paediatric cases.

     IIHP AP state branch election held on the same day. Dr.M.D.V.Raman Rao was re elected for the post of president. Dr.Murali Ravikanti is present General Secretary. Dr.G.Srinivasalu, Dr.Raja Suresh, Dr. Muralidhar Rao, were selected for Vice presidents, Dr.A.Kaladhar Rao, Dr.B.Rama Krishna, Dr.Prasad were installed for Joint secretaries. Dr.S.V.Swamy took charge for treasurer. The lady representatives include Dr. Kalpana Kanchumarathi and Dr. A. Kodumudi.

 
Homoeo Degree for MBBS
   

    DELHI. Mar 10, Department of AYUSH has sought Central council of Homoeopathy to formulate a six-months course in Homoeopathy for Allopathic Graduates. The new venture has caused anxiety among the students and practitioners all over India. Many associations from north and south had strongly condemned this new proposal by the Government of India.

    The protests were organised by the Punjab unit of the Save Homoeopathy Federation.SHF Dr. Sermeet Singh Mavi, General Secretary of the SHF.

    The Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association IHMA, National president Dr. P.S. Ranu Dr. V.K. Dhawan chairman of panjab Homoeopathic Council had called for national wide protest.


 
RSH hosted a seminar at Dehradun
   

    Dehradun Feb. 12. Research society of Homoeopaths hosted a two days National conference at Hotel Azanta Continental, Dehradun. More than 500 delegates from India and abroad participated the seminar.

    The Health Minister Sri Thilak Raj Behar inaugurated the conference. Dr.D.P.Rastogi, former Director, CCRH, presided over the seminar.

     Dr.Ramjee Singh, Vice president of CCH, special Guest to the occasion, informed that MD courses had been started in many colleges now. Dr.Anuradh Verma,RSH Secreatry , demanded the Government for separate Directorate and Homoeopathic Medicine Board. Health Minister agreed to process his requests. Dr. Verma expressed his disgust over condensed Homoeopathic courses for Allopathic Physicians.

     A panel of popular and eminent Homoeopaths, Dr.B.D.Patel, Dr.S.K.Tiwari.Dr.Jawahar Sha,Dr.Randeep Nanda, Dr.L.K.Nanda, Dr.Praveen Kumar, Dr.K.P.Dhama, Dr.Shivprasad, Dr.Sarad Sangloo, Dr.Virendra kumar Gaya, Dr.S.A.Sholei, Dr.L.Nanda,Dr.K.P.S.Dharma, Dr.Helendra Shuka, Dr.M.P.Singh, Dr.Suman Kumar, Dr.Amiya Goshwami, Dr.Rajeesh Bharadraj presented scientific papers. Dr. Raman Nakra gave vote of thanks.

 
GHMC, Tirumangalam gets new building for Anatomy
   
     MADURAI, 30.Jan. Government Homoeopathy Medical College,Tirumangalam gets a separate block for Anatomy Department. Dr. B. Chandra Mohan,I.A.S., District Collector, Madurai inaugurated the new building recently.
Thiru. Cho. Ramaswamy, Member of Rajya Sabha has offered fund from constituency welfare fund for the construction of building and also for renovation of maternity block. Now college is equipped with Ultra sonogram facilities also.
