Nature’s way!

The three principal figures of medical thought, Hippocrates, representing Antiquity; Paracelsus, representative of the Middle Ages, and Hahnemann, standing for our age, all pronounce the Law of Similars as the guiding principle of treatment. However it was Hahnemann who first established upon this principle a theory of medicine, a new method of drug research, a new, comprehensive and vast material medica, a revolutionary method of drug preparation, integrating all these elements into a new system of medical treatment. Never before, never since, has one single physician performed anything equaling such a feat.

Hahnemann as a Holistic Physician

The study of Homoeopathy won’t be complete unless the credentials of our great master are perceived in the true sense. In considering the contributions of Hahnemann to Medicine, we will be taken to one of the major aspects, viz the holistic concept. The terms holistic medicine, energy healing, herbal medicine etc. are very loosely used currently creating confusion among public. Ideally it should denote a system or concept of medicine wherein the wholeness of a patient as an individual is considered. A concept of integrating different systems of medicine can in no way be called holistic unless the false belief that ‘man is nothing but an aggregate of some organs’, is abandoned.

Master Samuel Hahnemann can be truly considered as the pioneer of holistic healing because the credit of introducing the novel concepts of individualisation and totality of symptoms into the service of ailing humane is upon him.The introduction of holistic concept in medicine by our master, proves to be the dawn of scientific awakening and enlightenment evident from the current medical practice reverting from boundless super specialties back to general medicine.

Dare to be wise
S. Nithya

In 1805 Hahnemann used the couplet of words for first time as concluding word i.e “ Aude Sapere “ in Medicine of Experience. He was so impressed by this word because of the criticism, jealousy of apothecary of modern medical collegues. He Mentioned,”Aude Sapere – Dare to be Wise”.

Three monthly journals against our Homoeopathy was published. Dr. Heckel published a separate book against Homoeopathy. Hahnemann knew that the human mind is enslaved in prejudice and orthodox school of medicine. It is not easy to install new ideas and advance view in it. Who ever has talked anything against the established notion and prejudice of the society.

He met always firm opposition like Socrates ( He was made to drink poison as he went against the God of Jews), Galileo ( He was poisoned because of saying that ‘ Earth goes around the Sun but not Sun around Earth)Jesus Christ - (Was nailed), Harvey (Criticised for discovery of blood circulation) Vesalis (Hounded out of his country for dissecting human bodies)
· Hahnemann knew the changes of being a wise man.Truth alone will win all over this world.
· Death is glorious & sacred..
