KORAPUT,
JUN 12: Homoeopathic Medical
Association of India, Koraput District Unit Orissa organized a function
for installation of life size statue of father of Homoeopathy, Dr. Samuel
Hahnemann was installed in new Bus Stand premises. In this grand occasion
Honorable Minister for Water Resources, Science and Technology, Orissa,
Mr. Rabi Narayana Nanda was the chief Guest who unveiled the statue.

Municipality Chairman Smt.Geeta Nanda was the Chairman of reception committee.
Dr. J.R. Pattanayak, Secretary of Association read the annual report.
Dr. Amit Roy Choudhury was special guest to the occasion. Dr. E. Panigrahi
presided over the function.
The
Chief Guest honoured Er.L.N. Panigrahi, Devi Prasad Mishra, Sanjeb Kumar
Tripathy, and Mr. P.K. Dash Among other Organizing Secretary Dr. K.S.
Das, Senior Advocate Satyanarayan Adhikari, Social Worker Prabhudan Bhatra,
Dr. Madhusudan Dash Choudhury, Dr. A. Nayak., Dr. Murthy and Dr. B. Govardhan
from Visahapatnam were present. Prabhudan Bhatra proposed vote of thanks.
A Scientific Session at Officer’s Club near H.M.A.I. Office followed
this function. Scientist and Homoeopath Dr. Amit Roy Choudhury from Kolkata,
spoke on “Thalassaemia and its Homoeopathic treatment”. He
told that how his patent prepared according to H.P.I. method wonderfully
manage the Thalassaemic patient. At last, after Question-Answer hour Mr.
J.P. Panda gave a vote of thanks.

BEGUSARAI,
JULY 10: Indian Institute of Homoeopathic physicians organized
a “Magazine Exhibition” at Meerganj. Municipal corporation
secretary Sri Alok Kumar Agarwal inaugurated the exhibition. Chief guest
of the function, Editor, I.T.V News Sri Ashant Bhola greeted the organization
for initiating such work. Various magazines were displayed on the occasion.
He was happy to see some rare magazines for the first time in Begusarai.
President
Dr.
Sultan Alam M. Bihari gave a public awareness lecture on Heart disease
and anemia. Sri Baidyanath Chaudhary, Dr. Shanthi Singh, Dr. D.P. Chaudhary,
Dr. Suzabhi, and Dr. Alok Kumar also spoke. Chief guest Ashant Bhola released
the new edition of ‘Rational physician magazine. ‘Homoeo Times’
Monthly was selected for the first place and the quarterly ‘Advent
of Homeopathy’ was also selected. ‘Vital Informer’ ‘Homoeo
Gagan’ ‘Mediworld’ Thansi were also awarded. Dr. Anand
Prasad, secretary organized the function.

council praised |

LAHORE,MAY
28: Efforts made by the National
Council of Homoeopathy (NCH) are strengthening the homeopathic profession
in Pakistan, said Professor Dr Iftakhar Hussain Waris, former NCH scientist
and principal of the Waris Shah Medical College. Dr.Waris, while quoting
NCH president Nasir Ahmed Chaudhry, said that 18,000 to 20,000 homeopathic
doctors had applied to renew their registrations, which would earn Rs
10 million for the council. He said that this amount would be spent
on a secretariat building for the NCH.
Waris
said that the step taken by Chaudhry and the joint Health secretary
to change the homeopathic examination system would remove doubts about
the competence of homoeopathic doctors. He said that he had requested
them to take action against unregistered homoeopathic doctors.

Camp |

| T.NARASIPUR,MAY22:The
Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, Karnataka State Branch in association
with Gunji Narashimhaswamy Temple Trust, T.Narasipura, Mysore district
had organised a one day free medical camp at the Temple premises on sunday
the 22nd of May 2005 during the Narashima Jayanthi celebrations. More
than 500 patients were treated in the camp. Dr.Veerabramhachary, Dr.M.R.Srivatsan,
Dr.M.Prakash Kumar, Dr.G.Venkatesh G.Rao and Dr.A.S. Narayan participated
in the camp. |

CHENNAI,
JUNE 29: The Fifteenth Convocation
of Dr.M.G.R. Medical University was held at the “University Centenary
Auditorium” Chennai. About 9445 graduates had been awarded degrees
and diplomas to the students of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and Indian
systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy.
His
Excellency, the Governor of Tamilnadu Surjit Singh Barnala presided over
the function and awarded degrees to the successful candidates. Thiru.N.Thalavai
Sundaram, State Minister of Health, C. V. Bhirmanandham, Vice-Chancellor
of Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, and S. P. Thiyagarajan, Vice-Chancellor,
University of Madras, were among those present on the occasion.
Sri.
Sivathanu was conferred Honoris Causa along with Dr. M. Sarada Menon,
the first women psychiatrist in Tamilnadu and Padma Bhushan awardee. Later,
the toppers from various medical and paramedical courses were honoured
by the Governor.
About 2,139 graduates of the university and 11 doctors were awarded in
person and they included 82 gold medalists, 24 silver medalists and 55
cash awardees.

CHENNAI,JULY.8.''We
have a treasure trove of different medical practices and it should be
preserved for posterity through standardization and by adoption of good
manufacturing practices,' emphasized Uma Pillai, secretary department
of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare, Government of India. Giving her inaugural address
at the two-day seminar on standardization and Good Manufacturing Process,
GMP, here yesterday, she stressed the need for the standardization of
Indian System Medicine, ISM.
According
to her, 'The Golden Triangle Research Programme of AYUSH, initiated as
a joint effort by the department of AYUSH and Indian Council for Medical
Research (CSIR) is a significant step in the direction of evolving and
validating quality drugs for international acceptance.'
In his welcome address,
Dr G S Lavekar, Director, Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and
Siddha, upheld the points and said that, 'Despite India having an an edge
over China in traditional knowledge on herbal medicines and a rich biodiversity,
the share of Indian export of herbal products is meagre when compared
to China, simply because there is no standardization.'
'Proper
farming and collection of herbs, proper food manufacturing practices and
quality laboratory and clinical conditions will ensure a good market',
he added. Thiru. M. F. Farooqui, special commissioner for Indian Research
in Ayurveda and Siddha also spoke on the occasion. |
