Fr.Muller’s College introduces new PG courses

Mangalore, Jun 26: The new postgraduate courses in homeopathy at Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College were inaugurated.

   Speaking on the occasion, Dr S P Singh, homeopathy advisor, department of Ayush, government of India inaugurating the courses in medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry and pharmacy said, “ Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College has become the only one in the State to offer post-graduation in all seven homeopathy disciplines. Dr. Singh said all kinds of diseases could be treated through homoeopathy. Explaining India’s potential in homeopathy, he said that the country has as many as 640-homeopathy drug manufacturing units, 292 hospitals, 5,398 dispensaries and 1,32,356 qualified doctors.

   Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore said post-graduation was not an option but a necessity in the competitive world of today. Baptist Menezes, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, S.K. Tiwari, Principal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Stanley Tauro, Administrator, Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College and others were present.   

 
Workshop on Repertory
 


   
A workshop on Repertory for post Graduate students was hosted at Fr Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Derlakatte. The workshop was inaugurated by the Director, Rev Fr Dr Baptist Menezes. Prof. Dr S K Tiwari, Principal of the College discussed the basic Repertories by Boenninghausen, Boger and Kent. Prof.Dr Valarmathy R. Fernandez Dr Rita Chakraborthy and Dr Kurian P J. hold discussions on different types of repertories including the modern repertories.


 
Maharashtra Government holds discussions to
promote Homoeopathy

      MUMBAI.JULY.11: The Government of Maharastra has given permission to set up homoeopathy dispensaries in Government hospitals and primary health centers in eight districts across Maharashtra.

     A meeting was convened by Dr Mrs. Vimal Mundada , Minister of Public Health, Govt. of Maharashtra. Former Minister Jaidatta Kshirsagar along with Dr. Arun Bhasme, Prithviraj Patil, Dr. Mrs. Priya Mahindre, Dr. Ajit Funde, Dr. Bahubali Shah and Mr. Amitabh Chandra Secretary Medical Education, Dr. Mrs. Chandra Ayangar Secretary Public Health, Dr. Prakash Doke, Director of Health, Vd. Wahid, Director of Ayurved, Dr. G.P.Titar & Dr P.M. Dixit attended the meeting.

     The Minister for Health said, “Under the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) the center was keen to promote alternative form of medicine such as Unani, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Naturopathy.”

     She advised the physicians to hold their system alone and avoid action against them.

 

 
IPH hosted Awareness program
 

    GANNAVARAM. JULY.15: The Institute of Practicing Homoeopathy and Walkers Health Club Jointly hosted a public awareness program on Homoeopathy. Dr. D. Ramachandra Rao, District Governor, Walkers Health Clubs was the chief guest to the occasion. Dr. B. S. Mohan, Director spoke on the merits of Homoeopathy and answered the questions of the gathering.

   Mr. P. Surya Satyanarayana Mrs. M. Venkata Ramana and Kasina Mallikharjuna Rao organized this exclusive public awareness program.
 


 
Dr.R.P.Patel demands CCH to disscuss Repertory curriculum

    VADODARA.MAY.22: Dr.R,.P Patel ,the world renowned homoeopath had demanded the Central Council of Homoeopathy not to have this subject of Repertory in curriculum and syllabus. He requested the Central Council of Homoeopathy to call an urgent meeting and make a full stop to all delusions, illusions and confusion that he pointed out in his detailed letter.

Delegates from PK
 

    A delegation of 46 doctors from Pakistan is in India to attend a two-day conference on Homeopathy to be held at Nainital. The main objective behind the conference to be held on July 14 and 15 is to facilitate sharing of ideas and experiences between doctors across the border. The delegation arrived by train amidst a grand welcome by Indian doctors.
 


 
Clinical Establishment Act
 

    The Indian Government has decided to regulate all clinical establishments The Cabinet has given its approval for introducing the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2007 in the Parliament. The proposed legislation will cover all clinical organisations in different streams of medicine including homeopathy, unani, siddha and ayurveda.
 


 
Medical and healthcare exhibition
 

    MEDX 2007, the first international medical and healthcare exhibition, will be held on July 17 and 18 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb,Muscut.. Besides allopathy, other verticals in the medical field like Ayurveda and Homoeopathy will also be showcased at the expo. More than 4,000 traders and buyers from the region are expected to visit the three-day exhibition.
 


 
AYUSH University
 

   The Punjab government is planning to set up ‘AYUSH’ University to promote Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy and Homeopathy systems of medicine. Punjab Medical Education Minister, Tikshan Sood, who chaired the first meeting of the State-Level Advisory Committee for setting up of ‘AYUSH’ University here on Thursday, said a blue-print of the project would be prepared after studying various the university models in the country.
