Miasmatic Prescribing

Dr.Subarth kumara Banerjee’s Miasmatic prescribing is the book selected for this month’s book review. Very useful book for both students and physicians to understand the basic concept of miasm. The use of simple english, step by step explanations and flowchart method has made it valuable to the student’s desk. He also incorporates the newer concepts like removal of symptoms in layers into the concept of miasms.

The comparative study table on miasms will serve in the choice of the similimum.

Mismatic repertorization of symptoms and miasmatic grading will serve as a helping hand after the selection of 3- 4 more similar drugs. One more additional inforrmation in the book, apart from many others on miasms, is that the grading of thremal status of the drugs. The symptoms of a particular disease and its various stages is a helpful guide.  This allows us to include modern disease diagnosis and staging during our similimum selection.

Thus the book can be called as “miasms in a nutshell”.
