Kali group of drugs are highly indicated for Sinusitis, like Kali-bich, Kali-carb, Kali-iod, Kali-mur, Kali-nitricum, Kali-phos, Kali-silicum, Kali-sulphuricum and Causticum.

Kali-bichromicum
    Chronic inflammations of frontal sinuses with stopped –up sensation after suppressed catarrh. Nasal discharge is thick, ropy, sticky, greenish yellow, acrid, tough elastic plugs leaves a raw surface. Large clinkers. Fullness at root of the nose, loss of smell. Foetid smells from retention of discharge at nose. Two loose bones as if rubbing together on blowing the nose. Distress & fullness at root of the nose is worse in the morning.

Kali-carbonicum
    Chronic sinusitis with postnasal dripping. Chilly patient but nose stuffs up in warm room. Descending coryza, thick foetid, yellow, green or crusty discharges. Nosebleed on washing face in the morning. Obstruction better by walking in the open air, worse from 2-3 am. Full of fear and imagination. Anxiety with fear when alone.

Kali-iodatum
    Nasal catarrh involving frontal sinuses. Bursting throbbing in nose and sinuses. Violent sneezing, takes cold from every damp day. Profuse acrid hot watery discharges, worse in cool air with salivation and dysnoea. Stiffness and dryness without discharge. Tightness at the root of the nose. Ozaena with perforated septum. Cool greenish irritating discharge from nose. Mentally irritable, irascible, especially towards his children and his family, sad, anxious, talkative disposed to jest.

Kali- nitricum
    Violent coryza with obstruction of nose & loss of smell. Burning in nose with digging and clawing pain especially right nostril. Mental weariness from lack of occupation or interest, peevishness, discouragement and fear of death.

Kali-muriaticum
    Sinus headache with vomiting, stunning shock in or a leader load holds down occipital better letting hair down and warmth. Discharges white, thick, stuffy cold in head. Whitish gray tongue. Discontent, discouraged, fears, sits in silence, imagine he must starve.

Kali-permanganicum
    Posterior sinuses painful. Nasal discharges smart & irritate bloody discharge. Nose feel stuffed & full as in catarrh.

Kali-phosphoricum
    Itching in posterior sinuses. Violent sneezing with symptoms of fresh cold at 2 am. Nasal discharge is foetid. Pains are relieved by gentle motion. Mentally slightest labor seems a heavy task. Anxiety with nervous dread, Lethargy.

Kali-silicum
    Nasal catarrh bloody, excoriating, offensive, nose swollen and ulcerated. Lassitude, absent-minded people.

Kali-sulphuricum
    Yellow slimy discharges, complaints after removal of adenoids. Obstructed nose & smell lost.

Causticum
    Pain in the right frontal eminence. Sensation as of an empty space between the forehead & brain, better by hot application. Sneezing in the morning. Thick yellow or greenish yellow discharge. Worse in clear fine weather, dry cold air and better in damp wet weather. Mentally over sympathetic person. Thinking of complaints aggravates.

    Apart from Kali, other commonly indicated remedy for Sinusitis are Pulsatilla, Silicea, Natrum mur, Pencillinum, Merc-sol, Hydrastis, Sepia, Sticta, Spigella.Hekla lava in 3x or 6x potency is very specific for sinusitis after mastoid operation.
