     Arsenic was used as a medicine from ancient times. 'Hughes' says that Arsenic was used in China, long ago and in India for cutaneous affection, neuralgia, chorea and cholera.Arsenic is the Horses Remedy; The horse is an exceedingly nervous animal, constantly moving about restless to a degree and very prone to take fright. The other hand of the horse is “staring coat” in animal and dry rough, scaly, unhealthy skin; in human beings are keynote indications for the remedy.
Arsenic is a poison and causes constant and violent irritation to all tissues such as
1. It attacks blood, causing septic changes
2. It attacks veins, varices that burn like fire especially at night.
3. It affects serous membranes causing copious serous effusions.
4. It attacks glands, which indurate and suppurate.
5. It attacks periosteum.
6. It affect joints causing paleness, swelling, burning pain etc..
